Dental Tourism by Country
Every major dental tourism destination assessed independently — regulatory environment, cost range, quality assessment and key risk factors for UK patients.
Our Assessment Methodology
Each country guide assesses the national regulatory environment for dental practice, the typical quality range of clinics (not just the best-case scenario), the actual cost range for common procedures, city-level variations in quality and access, and the specific risk factors most relevant to that destination. We do not promote any specific clinic. Our aim is to give you the information needed to evaluate destinations and individual clinics for yourself. Where clinics fall short of reasonable standards, we say so.
Turkey
Non-EU60–70% cheaper than UK
Implant from £600–£900
Europe's largest dental tourism market. Istanbul, Antalya and Izmir all host large numbers of UK patients. Quality range is very wide — from internationally accredited clinics to high-risk operators.
Hungary
EU Regulated40–50% cheaper than UK
Implant from £800–£1,100
The European Union option: German-standard care at central European prices. Budapest and the Austrian border town of Sopron are the main hubs. EU consumer protections apply in principle.
Mexico
Non-EU50–70% cheaper than UK
Implant from £500–£850
Mexico primarily serves US and Canadian patients but UK tourists also travel. Los Algodones, Tijuana and Cancun are the main dental tourism areas. COFEPRIS is the federal health regulator.
Thailand
Non-EU30–50% cheaper than UK
Implant from £900–£1,400
Bangkok hosts internationally accredited clinics that genuinely rival UK private dental standards. Quality outside Bangkok varies considerably. Distance makes follow-up complicated for UK patients.
Albania
EU Candidate65–75% cheaper than UK
Implant from £400–£700
The emerging budget destination in Europe. Tirana-based clinics are improving rapidly and the savings are among the largest in Europe. Independent review data is still sparse.
Poland
EU Regulated40–55% cheaper than UK
Implant from £700–£1,000
Well-established with German and UK patients. Krakow and Warsaw are the main cities. EU regulatory baseline applies. Consistently strong independent review data.
Croatia
EU Regulated35–50% cheaper than UK
Implant from £800–£1,100
EU member state with Adriatic coast clinics. Popular with UK patients who combine treatment with a coastal holiday. Smaller market than Turkey or Hungary; fewer specialist options.
India
Non-EU50–70% cheaper than UK
Implant from £300–£600
Very low cost, English-speaking, with internationally trained dentists in major cities. Quality range is extremely wide. Distance from the UK makes follow-up very difficult.
Colombia
Non-EU60–70% cheaper than UK
Implant from £500–£800
Medellín and Bogotá have developed strong dental tourism reputations, particularly among North American patients. An emerging option for UK patients willing to make the longer journey.
Spain
EU Regulated20–35% cheaper than UK
Implant from £1,400–£2,000
Full EU quality standards, straightforward access from the UK, and modest but meaningful savings. Best suited to simple treatments or patients already visiting Spain.
